Largest set of fine-art paintings in Vietnam
17:00 31/03/2009 VietNamNet Bridge – At the Festival of Vietnamese Craft Villages in the central city of Da Nang from March 25-29, the Vietnam Record Book Centre presented a cup and certificate of merit for the largest set of fine-art paintings in Vietnam of artisan Tran Van Anh from Quang Nam province.

This is a set of two paintings, with the theme “Going to the Heart, Coming to the Endurance”. They are 3.8m in height, 24m in width, and 850kg in weight.
The front side of the first painting has 108 Chinese words meaning heart and the front side of the second painting has 100 Chinese words meaning endurance.
The back side of the first painting has 108 lines of verse about heart and the second painting 100 lines of poetry about endurance. All words are made by Mut wood, in different calligraphic styles.

The two paintings are framed by Kien kien wood and the four corners are carved with four turtles and four unicorns.
Artisan Tran Van Anh said that he and some sculptors and goldsmiths worked for over one year, from 2007 to 2008, to complete this work.
