Peace Boat moors at Vietnam city abuzz with social activities

      The Japanese Peace Boat with 750 passengers arrived in central Danang city on Sunday, its first tour to the city this year with a bevy of social activities.

On Monday morning, 200 Peace Boat travelers together with 200 members of Danang’s Youth Federation took the time to tidy up the city’s 3km-long Tran Phu Street.

Within their two-day sojourn in Danang, the passengers, from Japan, America, Britain, Canada and Singapore among others were scheduled to visit historic and world heritage sites and learn recipes and cooking tips for Vietnamese traditional dishes.

They were also take part in folk games, ao dai (Vietnamese traditional tunic dress for females) measuring and sewing competition and cultural exchanges with local youths.

The Peace Boat arrived in Danang on the occasion of its 56th Global Voyage, departing from Yokohama, Japan on February 25, and returning on June 5, 2007.
