Seaside city hosts international kite festival

More than 300 kites are flying over Vung Tau City as part of an international festival

Hundreds of local and international kite flyers have gathered in the southern seaside city of Vung Tau to attend Vietnam’s first-ever international kite festival, Vietnam News Agency reported. “The Dance of the East Sea” festival, which started Thursday, features hundreds of enthusiasts from kite associations and clubs in the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, China, Thailand, South Korea and Australia. More than 300 distinctive kites of different shapes and sizes will fly over the city until the festival concludes on March 30, Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper reported. The three-day event is taking place at two locations, the Ho Tram Beach Resort and Spa and the Bien Dong (East Sea) Tourism Site, according to deputy director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Son. The annual festival was organized by the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province People’s Committee and the Ho Tram Beach Resort and Spa. Source : vietnewsonline.vn
