Vietnam province eyes tourists, set to hold its first festival

      Ninh Thuan province in south-central Vietnam held a conference Friday in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the first-ever cultural and tourism festival it plans to hold next month.

Ninh Thuan – Integration, Development and Friendliness, as it has been named, aims to promote the province’s marine tourism and Cham culture to appeal not  only to foreign tourists but also investors.

It will feature entertainment bashes, sports contests, fairs, exhibitions, and tours.

There will be several music and dance shows on August 18 in Phan Rang-Thap Cham town.

Music and fashion shows will also be held elsewhere in the town every night from August 18 to 21.

A motor race will be held on the Son Hai sand hill in Ninh Phuoc District, watched by an expected 10,000 visitors.

There will be a dragon boat race in Ninh Chu, one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam.

A march aimed at raising funds for poor disabled children and Orange Agent victims will be held August 16.

There will be exhibitions showcasing the province’s socioeconomic achievements and its craft villages.

A trade fair will show off products made by both local and foreign enterprises.

A seminar on tourism development will be held on August 19. 

In a province famed for its sheep and wine there will inevitably be a sheep  show and a food-wine party.

The province has also announced some imaginative tour programs which are designed to give tourists a look at the province’s features and landscapes.
