Over 200 Vietnamese craftsmen from around the nation will gather to show off their artistry next weekend at the traditional handicraft festival in Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial capital.

The second annual event, held from June 8-10 in the ancient capital, will feature three main categories of traditional artisans: carvers, bronze casters, and jewelry, which have been developed and maintained at career villages since seventeenth century.

Visitors will have chance to see unique cultural antiques that were made in traditional craft villages, including bronze drums, statues, musical instruments, bells and jewelry carved on elephant tusks, wood, pearls, gold, silver, and bronze.

The exhibition will be located along southern bank of Huong (Perfume) River from National Culture Park to the Truong Tien Bridge.

A collection of precious antiques will be showcased during the festival. They include five bronze drums from the Dong Son Age, dating back two thousand yeas ago, bronze mirrors from the first century, 1,500-year old bronze jewelry, and centuries-old tools.

As part of the to-do, a conference on the development of the ancient city and its culture will also be organized, where prestigious researchers and scientists will give talks.
