The national flag air carrier Vietnam Airlines has announced attractive airfares for the May holiday. The lowest one-way air ticket offered by Vietnam Airlines is VND450,000, for HCM City – Nha Trang flight, while the airfares are VND500,000 for Hanoi – Da Nang, HCM City – Hue, and VND650,000 for HCM City – Phu Quoc island.

As for long distance flights, the lowest airfare is VND900,000/travel for HCM City – Hai Phong/Vinh and Hanoi – Can Tho/Nha Trang/Quy Nhon.

The airfare policy will be applied with the summer flight schedule of the airline, from March 29 to October 24, 2009.

Other air carriers have also announced their plans to increase the carriage capacity to meet the higher traveling demand on April 30 – May 1 and summer highest peak tourism season.

Vietnam Airlines has announced it will increase the carriage capacity on the routes from Hanoi and HCM City to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Da Lat, Phu Quoc Island, Hai Phong, Vinh, Can Tho and Quy Nhon cities.

From April 29 to May 3, Vietnam Airlines will provide 38 more flights and increase the capacity of eight other routes Hanoi – Da Nang/Nha Trang, Hue, Da Lat, and HCM City – Da Nang/Nha Trang, Da Lat and Phu Quoc.

The total carriage capacity of the routes will increase to 25,000 seats/day/one way, an increase of 11% over the normal flight schedule, and 3% in comparison with the same period of the last year.

The air carrier said that it will make further adjustments to the carriage capacity, if necessary, after considering its capability and the market demand.

In order to prepare for the summer tourism season in June-August 2009, Vietnam Airlines will also increase the carriage capacity on 12 routes from Hanoi – Da Nang/Nha Trang, Da Lat, Quy Nhon, Can Tho and HCM City – Da Nang/Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Hai Phong, Vinh and Hue Cities.

Private airline Indochina Airlines has also announced the summer flight schedule, from March 30 to October 25. The airline will keep providing three flights a day for HCM City – Hanoi route, two flights a day for HCM City – Da Nang. It is expected that from May 1, Indochina Airlines will open the new route HCM City – Hai Phong, with one flight per day.

Jetstar Pacific has also released the summer flight schedule to commence as of June 1. There will be 10 flights a day on HCM City – Hanoi, six flights on HCM City – Da Nang.
