Central Vietnam city gets its own Sea Festival

      Danang city in central Vietnam said Wednesday it planned to hold the first-ever Sea Festival in July as part of cultural activities for promoting local tourism.

The city tourism administration announced the holding of several events like fashion and cookery shows, exhibitions, and events related to the sea along the beach and Han River.

An international sailboat race will be held in the city in September.

Sea Festivals have been held in two other provinces in the past – Khanh Hoa in the south central region in 2005 and Ba Ria-Vung Tau in the south in 2006.

Khanh Hoa plans to hold its second Sea Festival from April 28 to May 4 this year. It will be themed Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa – a Civilized and Friendly Destination.
