Discount holidays now cheaper by up to 40%
Travel firms are introducing discounted tours to celebrate Liberation and Labour Day holidays on April 30 and May 1.
HCM City-based Saigon-tourist said it planned to offer a 10-20 per cent discount on 20 domestic tours.
The most popular tours are in coastal locations, including Nha Trang, Ha Long, Con Dao Island, Phu Quoc Island and Phan Thiet.
Tours to Da Lat in the central region and Sapa in the northwestern region are also very attractive.
Since the beginning of March, more than 4,500 travellers had booked domestic tours through Saigontourist.
For travellers interested in learning more about foreign culture and history, the company has several deluxe tours to Japan, South Africa, the US, Egypt and Europe.
South Korea remains the most popular destination for most Vietnamese travellers.
Fiditour, another popular tour operator, says it has cut tour fees by 32-40 per cent.
All new Fiditour promotions will include accommodation at three or four-star hotels and accident insurance valued at VND20 million (US$1,176).
The cost of tours outside Vietnam has fallen by $30-$200 at Fiditour. A six-day tour to Bangkok and Pattaya costing only $170.
Viettravel will also give travellers booking a tour valued at VND1 million ($58.8) or more a coupon worth VND50,000-500,000 ($2.9-29.4) for any future booking.
With the holidays coming up, Vietnam Airlines has also announced that it will add 38 flights to its schedule.
These will be from Ha Noi to Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hue and Da Nang; and HCM City to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Da Lat and Phu Quoc Island.
Ha Noi railway station will add two more trips from Ha Noi to Da Nang and Ha Noi to Dong Hoi (both in central Vietnam) on April 29 and May 4 and add one more train route to the SE9 line from Ha Noi to HCM City on May 4.
Tourists visit an orchard in Can Tho Province. For the Liberation and Labour Day holidays on April 30 and May 1, tourists will be offered special discounted tours.
