Italian five-star cruise vessel docks in Vietnam metro
12:58 04/03/2009 ![]() On the vessel’s second visit to Vietnam’s southern hub, its passengers will stay in town for three days visiting My Tho and Vung Tau cities, the Cu Chi tunnels, the War Remnants Museum, Ben Thanh Market, and other tourist staples. The HCMC-based Tan Hong Tourism Company, which has received some 30,000 visitors by sea this year, is organizing the tour. In related news, Italian luxury cruise ship Costa Allegra late last week arrived in Cai Lan Port, Ha Long Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh with 800 passengers and crew members on board. The visitors, mainly from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Republic of Korea, visited many islands including Dinh Huong, Ga Choi, Vung Oan, and Chan Voi (Elephant Foot), Thien Cung cave and Hoang Gia (Royal) recreation park in Ha Long Bay. This was the fifth Costa Allegra docking in Ha Long Bay and the eighth ship arriving in Vietnam so far this year. The Costa Allegra is scheduled to make 35 trips bringing more than 35,000 tourists to Ha Long Bay from November 2006 to April 2007, said Saigontourist, the biggest tourism company in southern Vietnam.
