A Vietnamese travel company is participating in the government’s “Impressive Vietnam” campaign by offering discounts of up to 50 percent on domestic package tours.

Viet Travel Media has launched “Budget Tours 2009,” which offers discount tours of Vietnam during March and June.

The budget tours depart from either Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi and take in popular tourist destinations.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism unveiled its “Impressive Vietnam” campaign, which includes discounts for tourists, in January this year to stimulate tourism during the global economic downturn.
