Train fares for tourists rise 5%

The Vietnam Railway Corporation has decided to change train fares for Hanoi-HCM City trains this summer, said the corporation’s chief of Business and Transport Department, Nguyen Huu Tuyen.
Accordingly, the fares for beds on trains from Hanoi and HCM City to tourist sites will increase by 5% on average as of June 1.
The fares for hard seats will not change while fares for soft seats will reduce by 5% to serve low-income passengers.
Tuyen said during June 1 to July 31, if passengers buy tickets before the day of departure from 30-59 days will enjoy a deduction of 3% and up to 5% if they buy tickets before a departure of 60 days upwards.
