Vietnam resort town eyes Thailand, Singapore air links

      Lam Dong province in Vietnam’s central highlands hopes to launch direct flights from Da Lat town to Thailand and Singapore later this year.

The local administration said Thursday it would upgrade Lien Khuong airport in Duc Trong district at a cost of VND300 billion (US$18.6 million) to handle up to 1.5 million passengers a year.

Flights to Da Lat from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City routinely have over 95 percent occupancy.
