Vietnam to introduce tourism potential to France

. Six Vietnamese travel agencies will attend an international tourism fair in Paris next month to introduce the country's tourism potential, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said.

The annual Salon Mondial Tourism fair, due March 15-18, is expected to be a good chance for the local tourism companies to introduce the country’s typical tourism products to the European leading hotels, tourist companies and travel agents.

The Vietnamese tourism agencies also hope to exchange information and seek cooperation with European partners at the fair in the hope of attracting more French holidaymakers to Vietnam.

According to VNAT, Vietnam welcomed only 74,600 French tourists in the first seven months of 2006. The figure reflects a modest increase of two percent over the same period of 2005.
