Vietnam welcomes 1.46 million foreign tourists

About 1.462 million foreigners have visited Vietnam since the beginning of this year, 12.5 percent higher than the previous year, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said.

Among them, Korean tourists accounted for the highest number with 187,531 visitors, followed by Chinese with 178,097, American with 155,592 and Japanese with 149,150. 

Of 1.46 million foreign travelers, 900,000 visited Vietnam for tourism, up 17.5 percent year on year, while the remainder came to Vietnam for business and tourism.
