04:41 07/04/2009
A Russian expedition carried Vietnam's national flag on a flight to the North Pole Friday as a favor to the Vietnamese Embassy in Moscow, a state news agency reported Saturday.
The team, headed by Nikolai Kalyakin, will plant the Vietnamese national flag at the North Pole, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) said.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Moscow Bui Dinh Dinh thanked Kalyakin for his goodwill in carrying the flag, said national radio broadcaster Voice of Vietnam in a report on its website. The team is expected to take a Vietnamese representative with them on an expedition to the South Pole in November, VNA quoted Kalyakin as saying. Source: Thanh Nien Source : thanhniennews.com
